About the Alumni Association

History

The Alumni Association of the College of Europe was founded in 1949 and currently includes about 9000 former students. Thanks to the European specialisation acquired at the College, former students hold prominent positions in the economic, political and administrative, diplomatic and academic circles in over 100 countries.

The Alumni Association is an integral part of the College system, which was put in place by the founding fathers at its creation in 1949. The primary goal of the College is to form competent and experienced Europeans. That of that Alumni Association is to ensure that the 'esprit du Collège' continues. A student spends ten months at the College, however he or she stays an alumna/alumnus for the rest of her or his life. The College experience remains predominant in relation to the rest of their academic experiences for a large number of alumni. This spirit is unique to the College of Europe's alumni.
